Centennial plans changed

The group organizing Keystone Height’s 100th anniversary has delayed a family-friendly event initially scheduled for December 31 and will reschedule the event for a later date. Ginger Lee, chairperson of the Friends of Keystone Heights, said her group had problems lining up vendors and volunteers for the December 28 family event. She added that the year-end scheduling may have presented difficulties for food vendors, who are typically busy near the New Year’s holiday. Lee added that the second event, a centennial gala, is still planned for December 28 at the Keystone Heights RV Resort.
The gala will feature the band Duval County Line and a 30-minute talk by Keystone Heights historian Christina Arnold. It will also feature a Taste of Keystone Heights, in which Lake Region restaurants, including Johnny’s Barbecue, Cedar River Seafood, and Country Caterers, will offer a sampling of their food. Lee said pricing for the gala has also been changed. Individual tickets are $75, and a couple gets admission for $125. Tables are available for $500 each.
Tickets for the gala are on sale at Capital City Bank and the Keystone Heights City Hall.
The Friends of Keystone Heights also continued marketing their merchandise for the Centennial. The offerings include a $30 mug, T-shirts for $25 and calendars for $15.
