Keystone Heights Historic Pavilion Renovation

Pavilion History

May 10, 2021

The City of Keystone Heights, FL – The City of Keystone Heights has used funding allocated from the C.A.R.E.S (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act to fully renovate the Keystone Heights Historic Pavilion.

The Keystone Heights Historic Pavilion, originally built in 1924, is located on Lake Geneva in the Keystone Heights Beach Park.  It has been the host to many memorable community events over the years. Like so many towns and cities in Florida, Keystone Heights began as a development during the Florida Land Boom of the Roaring Twenties. Tourists and locals alike enjoyed the beaches on Lake Geneva.  The pavilion was built to host community events and originally had a band shell for concerts. The desire was to renovate this purposeful community building to its original glory with modern upgrades.

Renovations have brought new features such as air conditioning and an air filtration system, the addition of audio/video capabilities as well as stable WIFI, and walk in coolers and freezers for food storage.  The Keystone Heights Historic Pavilion can once again to serve as a Community center as well a Food Distribution center during times of crisis.

The city strives to once again make the Keystone Heights Historic Pavilion and Keystone Beach a vibrant area for the community to gather and take in the natural beauty that our area has to offer. Keystone Beach features picnic areas with grills, the “Geneva Jungle” playground, swings, slides, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, volleyball and an outside concert area.  You can also take advantage of the modern conveniences of free stable WIFI with powered picnic tables.

The Keystone Beach park is open to the public from 7am-10pm.  The Keystone Historic Pavilion can be rented out for gatherings and special events.  Please contact Keystone Heights City Hall at 352-473-4807 for more information.
