Airport Authority Seat 5
The City of Keystone Heights is seeking applications for vacant Airport Authority Seat 5 as stated in Section 38 of the city’s charter. This appointment will fill the three-year term from January 2025-January 2028. Interested individuals must live within 10 miles of Keystone Heights city limits and are required to fill out the attached application and submit it to City Hall by December 30, 2024.

Event Maintenance Worker

Events Coordinator
PART-TIME
5 to 20 hrs. per week; predominantly evenings and weekends (for festivals, and events)
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of parks, open spaces, grounds, turf, and related facilities.
This position requires working during city-sponsored events. The events take place throughout the year, usually at night and on weekends. The position requires coordination with the Event Coordinator.
Open and close, lock and unlock facilities as needed
This position requires weekend cleanup at the Pavilion after rentals. The position will clean the entire facility and set the equipment back to the standard required for the facility rental.
SUPERVISION
Works under the immediate supervision of an Events Coordinator or Public Works Maintenance Supervisor as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Event Setup
(A) Required to inspect all event equipment (staging, sound systems, lighting, chairs, tables) for functionality and safety.
(B) Setting up and arranging event furniture, signage, and equipment according to event specifications.
(C) Checking power outlets and electrical connections.
(D) Ensuring proper stage setup, including backdrops and lighting configurations.
During event maintenance:
(A) Monitoring event space for any potential hazards or maintenance issues.
(B) Performing minor repairs on equipment as needed. (e.g. Fixing loose cables, adjusting chair positions.
(C) Addressing technical issues that may arise during the event.
(D) Responding to requests from event staff regarding equipment and adjustments.
(E) Maintaining cleanliness of the event space by removing trash and debris.
Post-Event Breakdown
(A) Disassemble and pack away equipment properly.
(B) Inspecting equipment for damage and reporting any issues.
(C) Cleaning and sanitizing event spaces.
(D) Performing basic maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure proper functionality for future events.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Mows and maintains parks and open space areas; mows lawns; and weeds; cleans and maintains the courts and park equipment; maintains, repairs, and installs sprinkler systems, including lines and heads.
Installs and maintains tennis, pickleball, and basketball. Assists in the maintenance of the swimming areas.
Sweeps, power washes, paints, and repairs or replaces outdoor tables, sidewalks, and slabs.
Performs minor skilled or semi-skilled maintenance of open space structures, such as restrooms, shelters, maintenance sheds, etc. The position will perform custodial, maintenance, plumbing, and other unskilled and semi-skilled trade works.
Plants lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers. Carries out the seeding, fertilizing, top dressing, soil conditioning, and watering of parks and open spaces. Maintains current skills and knowledge in the proper and safe techniques of building and grounds maintenance functions.

Collects and disposes of solid waste from buildings and grounds; picks up litter and debris from city-owned premises.
Keeps records of work completed.

(A) Any combination of equipment, materials, and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance. Some knowledge of equipment and supplies is used to do minor repairs; some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
(B) Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
(D) Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely; Ability to understand and follow and transmit oral and written instructions; Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
