Scott Kornegay began his tenure as city manager with the City of Keystone Heights on January 4, 2016. He is a lifelong public servant having recently retired from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department in Jacksonville, Florida, after nearly 24 years of service. At the time of his retirement, Mr. Kornegay served as an engine company suppression lieutenant/paramedic on Jacksonville’s west side. During the Mayor Alvin Brown administration in Jacksonville he served three years as an administrative officer and project manager at JFRD headquarters. He was fully immersed in all aspects of the administration of a major metropolitan fire department with a $215 million budget and over 1300 uniformed and civilian personnel. Mr. Kornegay holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in public administration from Flagler College. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and Florida Air National Guard. He is a member of Lake Region Kiwanis and Lake Region Rotary. Mr. Kornegay lives on Lake Santa Fe with his wife of 29 years, Diane.
